Udupi, Oct 23: Daniel Monteiro, a well known philatelist, an office staff at S M S College, Brahmavar, Udupi district won silver medal in '35th Asian International Stamp Exhibition Macao-2018' held from September 21 to 24 at Macao (Republic of China) for his collection on Waterfowls stamps.

Monteiro also bagged several medals at various national and world philatelic exhibitions competition held earlier at Hong Kong, China, Korea, South Aftica, Thailand, New Delhi, Indonesia, Austria, Belgium, Singapore. A recipient of Guineess World record holder, he has 2 Limca records and three India Book of Records and Unique World Record to his credit. In addition, he is a recipient of district Rajyotsava award and several state and national level honours.

Daniel is an active member of DK Philatelists and Numismatics Association, Mangaluru and Karnataka Philatelic Society, Bengaluru. He also plays an important role in creating awareness about environment by organizing exhibitions in various institutions and organizations.
