Bengaluru: Kannada compulsory on advertisement boards, says minister Dr Jayamala

Bengaluru, Oct 18: "It has been decided make an amendment to the law, in the winter assembly session at Belagavi, to make Kannada compulsory on the advertisement boards," said Dr Jayamala, minister for Kannada and cultural department.

The minister spoke in this regard after holding a discussion with officials of different departments on Wednesday, October 17.

Giving clarity on the matter, Dr Jayamala further said, "Discussion is held on the legal constraints in order to make Kannada language compulsory in advertisements. The pros and cons of the act are also discussed in the meeting and requisite amendments will be made to the act in the oncoming winter session of the assembly and Kannada will be made compulsory in advertisements.
