Mangaluru: Dubai Bearys Cultural Forum distributes scholarships to nearly 500 students


Bearys should involve in health sector also, says minister Deshpande

Mangaluru, Aug 20: "'Students of Beary community are making exemplary achievements in the education sector. They should also come forward to offer their services in the health sector," said revenue minister R V Deshpande. .

He was speaking at the scholarship and sewing machine distribution programme organized by the Dubai Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) on Sunday, August 19 at the Town Hall of the city.

Minister U T Khader said that the recipients of the help should make up their mind to return the same back to society in future.

 

B M Farooq MLC inaugurated the ceremony. Dr B K Yusuf, president of BCF presided over the function. T R Suresh, police commissioner of Mangaluru extended his wishes. Khazi Al Haj E K Ibrahim of Krishnapura Juma Masjid offered the prayers.

Nearly 500 merit students of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district received the scholarship. 55 women were given the sewing machines. Students were given the merit award and also felicitated on the occasion.

MLCs Ivan D'Souza and K Harish Kumar, former MLA Moideen Bava, former MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik, registrar of Mangaluru university Dr M M Khan, managing director of Vishwas Bawa builders Abdul Rauf Puttige, president of Beary Academy Hajee Mohammed Karambar, former president B A Mohammed Hanif, working president of DKSC Hatim Kunhi, former senate member P V Mohan, JD (S) leaders M B Sadashiv, Vittal Mohammaed Kunhi, president of BCF scholarship committee M E Muloor, vice-presidents Abdul Latif Mulki and Amiruddin S I were present.

Patron of BCF B M Mumtaz Ali welcomed the gathering. Ibrahim Musliyar recited the Kiraath. The programme was compered by chief secretaries of BCF Dr Kaup Mohammed and Rafiq Master.

Seminar and art exhibition

Educational seminar and art exhibition were conducted before the programme. This was inaugurated by MLA Vedavyas Kamath. BCF president Dr B K Yusuf presided over the function. Director of London America City College of UAE Prof Kaup Mohammed and president of Talent Research Foundation Riyaz Ahmed Kannur gave the information. Art exhibition of artists Khurshid Yakub and Ahmed Mikdad took place.

DCP Hanumantharaya was present on the occasion. B A Nazeer welcomed the gathering for the art exhibition and seminar. The vote of thanks was rendered by BCF Dubai vice-president Amiruddin S I. Rafik Master compered the programme.
