Bengaluru: BJP rejects Kumaraswamy's horse-trading charges

Bengaluru, May 16 (IANS): Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday rejected the charges levelled by JD-S leader H D Kumaraswamy that the BJP has offered Rs 100 crore and cabinet posts to its newly elected MLAs to form a government in Karnataka and expressed confidence about forming a stable government.

"Rs 100 crore figure is not only imaginary but it is what the Congress and Janata Dal-Secular do politics with. We are going by the rules. We do not deal in horse-trading of any kind.

"We are confident of forming a government. We have met the Governor and submitted our claim. We are very sure that we will make a government and a very stable one," Javadekar told reporters.

Javadekar, who is the Karnataka in-charge for the Bharatiya Janata Party, made the remarks soon after Kumaraswamy accused the BJP of horse-trading and said his party legislators were offered Rs 100 crore each and cabinet berths.

"Our legislators have been offered Rs 100 crore and cabinet seats by the BJP in return for support," the former Chief Minister alleged at a press conference here.

The JD-S leader named Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah for the offer as the BJP, he said, was desperate to form a government and deny the JD-S a chance to form a government with Congress' backing.

The JD-S and Congress together have the required majority to form the government, he added.

    Mr. Ravi
We have been hearing this dialogue that "they will be back soon" for a while now. Congress is losing all states. What you said is absolutely right that money power will not last forever which is what is happening now. Karnataka is a class example. Nothing wrong in being optimistic but the wait may be a bit longer than you think it is.

I think the main reasons for congress defeat is not development problems as congress has done revolution in country development in almost every field. Some of the reasons for defeat could be

    Weak congress IT cell
Failed to counter Modi and BJP speeches
    Laziness and overconfident
failure to learn lesson from previous defeats
Leadership of RG when people expect Priyanka Gandi
    Too much minority appeasement
    Not playing Hindutva card
    Failed to counter fake news
Could not handle Money power of opposition (4000 crores on publicity)
Unable to handle questions like 70 years congress rule, corruption, looted, dynasty politics etc.

BJP hardly spoke anything about development in Karnataka but kept blaming congress, still they got 104 seats and you know well how.

BJP will not be able to form government without Horse Trading which is known fact. There is no point hiding these facts and telling lies.

100 crores is not an imaginary figures for voters, Easy figures to politicians.

We will not feel the heat of all these horse trading, corruption, bribes, fakes etc. in the short run but surely in the long run. BJP should come to power in 2019 to know the impact so that people understand what went wrong. If congress comes to power in 2019, they will have to spend 5 years just by handling the damages done by previous government.

BJP CAN NEVER WIN THE TRUST VOTE UNLESS THEY BUY MLA'S. THERE IS A LOT OF SUBSTANCE IN KUMARASWAMY'S STATEMENT. HE IS RIGHT.
THERE IS NO ONE LEFT INDEPENDENTS TO SUPPORT BJP; HOW CAN THYE WIN THE TRUST VOTE.

IF THEY HAVE ANY DECENCY, THEY MUST GRACIOUSLY KEEP THE FLOOR OPEN FOR THE COALITION AND ALLOW THEM TO RULE. DO NOT REPEAT GOA, MANIPUR AND OTHER STATES.
