Mangaluru: AICC internal survey predicts setbacks in three DK constituencies

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 2: It is reliably learnt that as per two internal surveys instituted by All India Congress Committee (AICC), Congress is standing on a sticky wicket as far as assembly election is concerned in three constituencies of Dakshina Kannada (DK) district. These constituencies had been won by the Congress in the last election. This disturbing information has come at a time when there is confidence within the party circles that they would be able to repeat or better the last time's performance of bagging all but Sullia constituency in Dakshina Kannada district.

As Congress party is hell bent on issuing party tickets only the winning candidates this time, both the state and central leaderships are toying with the idea of changing even the current MLAs wherever felt necessary. However, where the chances are equal, the candidates will be given the responsibility of registering victory for the party, sources stated.

Congress state president Dr Parameshwara and chief minister Siddaramaiah

As per the surveys conducted by two AICC teams, Congress is likely to face stiff challenges in three of the six constituencies it won last time. The opinion which emerged out of these surveys, which were conducted separately, is the same.

City south, Moodbidri and Puttur are the three constituencies where the party will face uphill task as per these surveys. The survey mentions that Lobo was behind several development works in the city but some disputes he got involved with might mar his chances. The same opinion has emerged in Moodbidri constituency too. In both these constituencies, chances of victory for Congress candidates has been put at 50:50.

In the other constituency, Puttur, Shakuntala Shetty, has functioned well. But many of her own party leaders feel that she continues to suffer from the hangover of being in BJP. As there is dissidence within the block Congress in her constituency about her candidature, he chances of winning can be in jeopardy as per the surveys, party sources revealed.

President of Dakshina Kannada district Congress committee, Harish Kumar, says that AICC does not bring to the notice of the local unit of the party about surveys conducted by it. He said that the party is fully geared up to face the election, with the completion of door to door visits and formation of booth level committees.

J R Lobo has been doing really good work in the city. It is indeed shocking to hear that there is less chance that he will win. It makes me wonder that if even after doing development work it doesn't fetches you victory then what else will!! Like minded people need to support lobo this time.

I believe there are more aspirants for one common seats and this is the direct result of internal bickering. If Congress is able to flame out the dissidents within the party then nothing is unsafe.

    If Congress wants to continue their winning;
    1. No tickets to corrupt and criminals.
    2. Curb all dissidents
    3. Campaign only on development issues.
    4. No to personal attack.
    5. Question BJP on development and independence struggle.
    6. No freebies
    7. Strict monitoring of EVM at booth level.
    8. Work as team.

Time is not far as demi God of Congress ,Shriman Rahul Gandhi will openly declare that he will participate in Karseva to build Ram temple in Ayodhya.
He already set the trend visiting temple after temple in Gujarat.

Congress knows their game plan if divideing people in karnataka in the name of appeasement is going to boomerang in next election.

Biggest mistake he did was supporting tipu jayanthi. He could have abstained himself instead of vocally opposing just like pramod. This jayanthi thing may cause damage to him.

Who ever becomes MLA here will only try to make money thru contracts. Support and help only those who are close to them and neglect other voters.. Even BJP is having same type of thinking and their leaders are surrounded by a group of businessmen and their goons...

who neglect lower cader workers and elderly people for ever... so all parties are having same face and beg votes by pleasing smile after winning.... they will not face voters nor they visit our area... above photo is a example... Sidhu faces left and Parmeshwara right... in between Mr Ivan ... like a common man.... so funny...

My frank opinion are as follows. Cong has to be confident,, as there are no good leaders in BJP. They should cash on this. Yeddi as the CM candidate will only spell doom for their party. Even BJPians may not support or vote for him. But then Amith Shah or Modi may have already realized this and may have other game plans.

Cong should not underestimate the opposition. The Cong chances can be thwarted if their leader RG campaigns. People are tired of his stale jibes, lashing at PM, question a day etc. His latest avtaar of a Shiv Bakth and leaning towards 'hidutva' has not gone well with minorities. RG plans the same in Ktaka campaigning as well. Moreover Owaisi fielding his candidates is also not good news for Cong, It might hit their traditional Muslim vote bank. Both parties are evenly balanced.
