Gurgaon school murder: Teen recreates crime scene; father alleges torture by CBI

Gurgaon, Nov 11 (Agencies): A Gurgaon juvenile court on Saturday sent the teenager apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the killing of a eight-year-old boy in Ryan International School to Faridabad observation home till November 22.

CBI sources said the court has fixed the next date of hearing on November 22.

Earlier in the day, the apprehended teenager, a class 11 student of the school, was taken by the CBI to the school to recreate the crime scene, they said.

The sources said the team reached the school at around noon along with the accused and remained there for over three hours before taking him to the juvenile court where a hearing was scheduled.

The team asked the teenager to explain the events that took on September 8 morning when Pradyuman, a class 2 student of the school, was allegedly killed by him, they said.

He was asked to explain the entire chain of events that unfolded on that day as the team took various measurements and recorded time, among others, needed to commit the crime as part of a corroborative exercise, they said, adding it was done to ascertain the claims of the accused.

The sources said the CBI officials also used a dummy in the form of a soft toy to ask him how he allegedly killed Pradyuman.

Meanwhile, the father of teenager alleged that the CBI was torturing his son which was strongly refuted by the agency.

"My son is being tortured, he was hung upside down and brutally thrashed. He is completely innocent," he said.

The student's father also said that only one Parent-Teachers Meeting (PTM) had been held till date and that all teachers had praised his son's performance and behaviour. "I have his marksheets," he added.

"Do you think such a young boy would behave normally for so many days had he committed such a serious crime?" the boy's father asked.

The sources said the juvenile court has appointed an independent welfare officer to monitor the investigation and questioning of the apprehended student.

They said the officer, a completely independent entity, remains present during the questioning sessions and also whenever the accused is taken to a location.

The sources said the agency is trying to analyse all aspects and possibilities in the murder case.

Meanwhile, the Juvenile Justice Board sought clarification from the CBI for violating the timings of interrogation of the accused class 11 student.

Earlier on Friday, sources said that the CBI was probing the involvement of a second student of the school in the murder.

Pradyuman was found near the toilet of Ryan International School with his throat slit on September 8 morning within an hour of his father leaving him at the school.

The Gurgaon Police had arrested a bus conductor of the school pinning the blame of murder on him.

In a sensational twist to the case, the CBI recently announced that it had apprehended the senior student in connection with the murder of Pradhuman rejecting the Gurgaon Police theory that the killing was the handiwork of school bus conductor Ashok Kumar.

According to the agency, the Class 11 student, believed to be weak in studies, allegedly slit Pradyuman’s throat to get the school to declare a holiday in order to defer a scheduled parent-teacher meeting (PTM) and an examination.

Oh no...no again. don't make my county's investigating agency as laughing character. First police accused bus conductor, then CBI to student and god forbid tomorrow NIA accuse either a teacher or victims own parents. Why the hell there is no co ordination between the agencies? If this trend continues, for sure tomorrow no one trust our agencies any more and hope public not to opt for private detectives.

Target is first decided who should be convict and the police and Arnab work together to cook evidence.
