Bengaluru: Premiere of ‘Maa – Yeh CineMaa Hai’, a glorifying success

Bengaluru, Oct 25: After the successful premiere of Sandeep Malani’s film series ‘Maa – Yeh Cinemaa Hai’ at Don Bosco Hall in Mangaluru few months ago, Bengaluru witnessed the glitz and glamour during the weekend at its grand premiere at Renukamba Digital Theatre in Malleswaram.

The event was attended by Kannada cinema’s stylish director Indrajit Lankesh, who of lately is also a household name for being on the ‘Hot Seat’ of the Comedy Reality Show ‘Majaa Talkies’. Arvind Rau, the award winning actor of Rangi Taranga fame, and actress-producer Kalpana Pandit made their presence felt at the premiere show.

The show was organized for the press and media of the Bengaluru region.

The premiere was attended by cast and crew of ‘Maa’ that included director Sandeep Malani, Reshma Malani, Silver Malani, Santosh Chawla, Mahesh Dulam, Anitha Dulam, Aditi and Sriman Dulam, Sanjukta Ghosh, Velu Murugan, Karthik Venkatesh, Jyothi Harindranth, Alwyn Dsouza, Nishita Saldanha, Angel Dsouza, Valerian Menezes, Clery Menezes, Ashwin Saraf, Jamuna Amma and others.

Charan Suvarna (of Fashion ABCD), model-actress Nimika Ratnakar (Ramadhanya), and young director Gurudutt Srikanth (of Mooka Vismitha fame) was also present at the premiere.

The premiere kick started with the showcase of Neela Hair Oil that featured Kalpana Pandit and was shot at Mysuru. The ad, also shot on an iPhone 6s camera was edited by Vignesh Thanupillai for The Studio Agency (Santosh Chawla) and was produced by House Of Pandit. The camera and direction was handled by Sundeep Malani. Malani Talkies is the promotional partner.

Indrajit Lankesh was all praises for Malani. He addressed the media and said, “I have known Sandeep Malani from many years now. He was a film journalist and then became a director. He has done some good work for Kannada and Hindi films. With this film, he has done something challenging. Shot a film entirely on an iPhone which is praise worthy. He has made his wife act and she looks beautiful. His son Silver has given a natural performance. Wish him all the best.”

Arvind Rau also praised Malani with his kind words. He said, “Filmmaking is not a difficult job for those who are into it. But Malani has done the impossible possible. Hats off to him for making a film on an iPhone, and that too with 100 stars. The result is wonderful on screen.”

Kalpana Pandit also had praises for the cast and crew of the film. She loved the film and was touched by the performance of Meena Malani, who played the title role of ‘Maa’. She also appreciated the concept of mother sentiment and woman empowerment. She praised Silver, Ranjeet Jha, Mahendra Pandey, Akash Hora and Vivek Punjabi for their wonderful performances.

Charan Suvarna said, “The storyline is good, and camera work awesome. Liked the title song and some scenes were really emotional. The iphone concept was very innovative.”

The media was also all praises for the effort of Sandeep Malani in making a film with low budget cost and handling 100 stars with an iPhone camera.

Produced by Ranjeet Jha, Santosh Chawla and Malani, for RKJ Productions, The Studio Agency and Malani Talkies, the film with 100 stars also features Shubha Raksha, Sharanya Jit Kaur, Cherrie Ash, Varsha Acharya, Vishal Digani, Kkewal Sharma, Mohammed Aashiq, Chirag Kundapur, Prayas Singh, Jagruti Mehta, Saiheel Rai, Deepali Khambadkone, Vinny Fernandes, Vivek Mishra and many others.

The film is now set to have its Mumbai premiere soon.
