Mangalorean Catholic Community, Adelaide Celebrates Feast of Nativity

Adelaide, Sep 22: The Mangalorean Catholic community celebrated Feast of Nativity in Adelaide, Australia at Loy/Julie Goveas’ residence.

A group of 11 Mangalorean families from Adelaide took part in the celebrations as a symbol of their devotion and love to Mother Mary and the Catholic faith. Being the feast of our lady; the celebration began devotionally with prayers, followed by offering the flowers by all to Infant Mary.

Many attendees joined in the singing of the traditional hymns. Interesting spot games were conducted and the audience enthusiastically took part in the games. The group sang Mangalorean Konkani songs and relived the celebrations in Mangalore .The entire programme was compared by Ranjitha Rebello D'Souza.

The reason for this get together being unique fostered and promoted a spirit of unity and love among all the families that gathered to witness the event. Several families volunteered to prepare different vegetarian dishes.

Authentic Mangalorean Monthi Festival lunch was then served. All the families attending the celebration cooked the delicious vegetarian food for all present. The sumptuous home cooked food was appreciated and relished by all.
