Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College to host 'Anveshan Reloaded'

Mangaluru, Apr 8: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), here, is proud to partner with the department of IT, BT and S & T under the New Age Incubation Network (NAIN), for establishing Incubation Centre which is intended to help students, research scholars and alumni to identify solutions for the local needs.

The objectives of NAIN are:
• Establishing incubation centers in ICT sector in association with selected Engineering colleges
• To encourage students, research scholars and alumni to share their ideas to solve chosen problems which are local centric and to validate, refine and nurture ideas
• To provide an ecosystem to convert ideas into proofs of concept and upgrade them to a level of commercial value
• To encourage and lead the teams toward setting up a business enterprise

SJEC Incubation Centre will facilitate in getting a grant of Rs 3 lac for each selected novel project from the Government of Karnataka. With a working space facility of 4000 sqft, the Incubation Centre at SJEC can accommodate up to 15 start-ups simultaneously. This state-of-the-art facility includes well-furnished seating arrangements, high configuration computers, independent high-speed dedicated internet connection, uninterrupted power back up and discussion and meeting rooms.

The IPR cell established in collaboration Karnataka Science Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) helps in bringing awareness about IPR, enables patent searches, guides inventors with respect to patenting searches, facilitates filing of patents etc.

In this context, SJEC Incubation Centre is all set to host an Idea Presentation event, 'Anveshan Reloaded 2019'on April 22.

Interested students can form a team of minimum three members and pitch their ideas that can become reality with the NAIN funding. Teams are expected to apply for this event by filling an application form by April 18 and present their ideas to the experts on the day of the event, for about 15 minutes. Upon selection, the teams are required to submit a detailed business proposal (with financial details and milestones) to avail NAIN funding.
