Udupi: ‘Zest’ held by PG dept of Commerce at St Mary's College, Shirva

Udupi, Apr 2: Post graduate department of Commerce of St Mary's College, Shirva organised ‘Zest – 2019’ on March 29.

The inaugural function was held at Saud Sabha Bhavan, Shirva. Fr Denis A D'Sa, correspondent, St Mary's and Don Bosco Educational Institutions, chief guest Mithun Bhat Kakunje, director of Kakunje Group of Companies, Prof Rajan V N, principal, St Mary's College, Shirva, assistant professor Sharmila, fest coordinator, assistant professor Jagadeesh Acharya, coordinator, post graduate department of Commerce and were present.

Convocation was led by the choir team. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Fest coordinator Sharmila delivered the opening remarks which introduced the details of the fest to the participants and audience.

Principal Prof Rajan V N in his address praised the achievements of the college and felicitated the organising committee.



 

 

The chief guest of the programme Mithun Bhat in his inaugural address said that in order to reach greater heights one must grab all the opportunities. During the presidential remarks, Fr Denis D'Sa elaborated the meaning of the word ‘Zest’ and even exclaimed that zest is an opportunity for each one to stimulate potentiality. The inaugural function was compeered by Lavita Moras, Raksha, student coordinator welcomed the gathering, and Anusha rendered the vote of thanks.

After the inaugural function, various competitions were held simultaneously like Marketing, Fin Win, B-Quiz, HR and Best Manager which were judged by the well-versed personalities in the field namely Uday Shetty, Lokeshnath B, A Melwyn Castelino, Ronald J Moras, Jagadeesh Acharya and Sandhya.

The chief guest for valedictory programme was Jagdeesh, audit officer. In his address, he asked the students to have keen interest towards government sector employment. Rajan V N, principal of St Mary’s College congratulated the participants and the MCom department for organising such an amazing fest named ‘Zest – 2019’and making it a successful one. MCom coordinator Jagadeesh Acharya read out the names of winners according to their teams. The prize list is as follows:

Winners - Team Apoorva (Final year BCom ‘A’)

The valedictory programme was compered by Joyce Cutinho, Pawan Rao welcomed the gathering, and Sharmila, fest coordinator thanked all the responsible personalities for their selfless contribution, dedication, determination, participation and support.
