Mumbai, Jan 8 : Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with early-stage cancer, confirmed his son Hrithik Roshan on social media site Instagram. Sharing his picture along with father, Hrithik wrote that actor-turned filmmaker will undergo surgery on Tuesday, January 8.

 ''Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn't miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him.Love you Dad.” Hrithik wrote on Instagram.

Soon after the message seen online, fans and well-wishers of Rakesh Roshan poured with 'get well soon message. Abhishek Bachchan was first to convey his message from film fraternity.

Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with the initial stage of throat cancer.
