Mumbai, Jul 28 (IANS): Writer-director-actor Aazaad of the upcoming film "Rashtraputra", based on the life story of freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad, says it has been shot in five languages, which was quite difficult for all the actors.

The film has been shot in Hindi, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil and Telugu.

On the shooting experience of the film, Aazaad told IANS here: "It was quite a task for all the actors to shoot the film in five languages, especially in Sanskrit because that is one language that we do not speak in daily life. We do not get to hear that language. So the actors had to work to get the pronunciation right. So that was quite challenging."

Since the film is releasing in 26 languages, Aazaad said "The idea is to reach out to the maximum people with the story of the freedom fighter that people do not know much about."

As the film is produced by Bombay Talkies, which is coming back to business after a gap of almost six decades, Aazaad said he is very fortunate to be a part of it.

"I feel lucky to be a part of this crucial journey of Bombay Talkies because back then, iconic actors like Dilip Kumar, Ashok Kumar and Madhubala worked here. In fact, the current management felt happy that I chose the story of Chandra Shekhar Azad.

"In 1940, Bombay Talkies made a film on Chandra Shekhar Azad titled 'Azad', in which Ashok Kumar played the lead role. Since the freedom movement was going on and the British government got offended by the narrative of the film, the makers had to change the story to get a release. So with this film, hopefully, the production house will fulfil their incomplete dream."

"Rashtraputra" will release on September 14.
