Night temperatures improve in J&K


Jammu/Srinagar, Feb 15 (IANS): Minimum temperatures throughout Jammu and Kashmir improved on Thursday as weather office forecast light rain till Tuesday.

"The minimum temperatures improved due to cloud cover. Light rain is likely to occur during the next 24 hours," a Met official said.

In Srinagar, the minimum temperature was 1.9 while it was minus 0.9 in Pahalgam and minus 6.6 in Gulmarg.

Kargil was the coldest town in the state at minus 11 followed by Leh at minus 6.9 degrees Celsius.

Jammu city recorded 9, Katra 9.6, Batote 3.7, Banihal 2.1, Bhaderwah 2.4 and Udhampur 7.5 as the minimum temperatures.
