Civilian killed in Pakistan shelling on LoC


Jammu, Oct 2 (IANS): A 10-year-old boy was killed and five other civilians injured on Monday in heavy shelling and firing by the Pakistan Army on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, police said

The boy identified as Asrar Ahmad was killed as the Pakistani troopers began shelling and firing in the Kerni area at 6.30 a.m.

"The injured civilians have been hospitalised," the police said here.

"The Indian military is retaliating strongly and effectively... Shelling and firing exchanges are going on," Defence Ministry sources said.
