India, Pakistan exchange fire in Jammu


Srinagar, Apr 5 (IANS): The Indian and Pakistani Army on Wednesday exchanged fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector of Jammu region.

"The Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at 9.05 a.m. today (Wednesday) on the Indian Army posts," Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS in Jammu.

"The Indian Army is retaliating strongly and effectively."

The firing exchange still continues, he said.

The Pakistan Army has been targeting Indian positions along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu region during the last four days.
