'Misconceptions' due to my saffron-clad look: Yogi Adityanath

New Delhi, Apr 3 (PTI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said "misconceptions" have been created about him due to his saffron-clad look and promised to win hearts of "all sections" by spreading a new idiom of happiness and prosperity.

He also said those who have been "insulting" India's traditions in the name of secularism are feeing threatened after he assumed office.

"Many misconceptions are created about me. Many people say I am saffron-clad, so there are many in the country who are averse to saffron," Adityanath said in an interview to RSS affiliated weekly 'Organiser'.

He said, those who were insulting India's tradition and culture in the name of secularism and appeasement are feeling threatened after he took office.

"We will win hearts of all sections of people with our style of working. We would spread a new idiom of happiness and prosperity," the 44-year-old Adityanath, considered a Hindutva hardliner, said.

Noting that for him power was not for fun and frolic, he said, "We are not in politics to run after prestigious positions and posts."

Listing out the priorities of his government, Adityanath said protection of "rashtra" (nation) will be the main "dharma" (religion) of his government.

"This is focal point of humanity. In UP we would provide corruption-free administration and rid the society of goonda raj," he said, adding plans have been made and their impact will be visible in the next two months.

A new industrial policy will be in place to check migration of people from the state and it would make sure that 90 per cent of the employees in any industrial unit were from within Uttar Pradesh, he said.

Promising to clear the dues of sugarcane farmers within 14 days, Adityanath announced five-six new sugar mills will be opened in the state over the next six months.

I saw this interview on the TV, and I did not find any thing unusual . He clearly said that he is anything against 'illegal' as per the supreme court and legal slaughter houses had no problem. The question here is, how did the illegal meat houses survive so long?? As he was elected by the people in majority, the only option is to give him some time and see how it goes. If he does not deliver , then we have to ask him to leave. We cannot blame him for his victory . Its not his fault if his Cong opponent was routed. The Cong has to really think of restructuring. Rahul , Priyanka etc have now been tested and tried. Its better to give others a chance. The more they cling on to these 'failed' leaders, the sooner they fade.

Saffron color has a special place in Hinduism. However, in recent years, politicians misuse this color for worldly dominance and personal gains. It is not the attire of a person which will bring him glory, but, his acts and thoughts. Do not try to defeat a person, but, try to win a person. Do not snatch bread from poor. That curse will never be absolved.

Same as wolves in sheep clothing. Moral policing in the name of anti Romeo, closing slaughter houses in the name of beef, equating namaaz with surya namaskaar to name a few of your good work towards RSS backed Hindu extremist society. Thank and have faith in EVMs alone, no sane person will vote you to power.

Aghori Sadhus practiced cannibalism and smoked drugs without wearing anything. No one objected in their divine intervention.

It is bad mouth is the problem not your attire. Hope CM Yogi must understand he is in the ruling seat of largest democracy of India.

Good governance don't start with snatching the livelihood of your citizens. If his government is serious about the population of divine cows, let the government encourage milking cows or allot the lands to til.

A yogi is a practitioner of yoga.In Vedic Sanskrit, yoga means "to add", "to join", "to unite", or "to attach" in its most common literal sense.

    Ethical duties

Yogi are seekers of an absolute truth. A yogi advances in the path of self discipline (practice) and aspires to spiritually realize truth.

A yogi or yogini lives by other voluntary ethical precepts called Yamas and Niyamas. These include:

Ahiṃsā (अहिंसा): nonviolence, non-harming other living beings
    Satya (सत्य): truthfulness, non-falsehood
    Asteya (अस्तेय): not stealing
    Dayā (दया): kindness, compassion
    Ārjava (आर्जव): non-hypocrisy, sincerity
    Kṣamā (क्षमा): forgiveness
    Dhṛti (धृति): fortitude
Mitāhāra (मितहार): moderation in diet both in terms of quantity and quality
    Śauca (शौच): purity, cleanliness
Tapas: austerity, persistence and perseverance in one's purpose
Santoṣa: contentment, acceptance of others and of one's circumstances as they are, optimism for self
Dāna: generosity, charity, sharing with others

Yogi dedicate their eternal life and they don't have any political affiliation. No one cares what you wear. But what say is very important?

    SMR , Karkala,

Do not depend on Wikipedia too much. It will confuse you more with your pre-existing ignorance about Hinduism.

Also try to understand the difference between 'Legal butcheries' and 'Illegal butcheries'. If someone is making his livelihood illegally, it should be stopped.
Making your living by stealing couldn't be supported by anyone. What do you say?

    Mr.Shankar,
Sir,Seeking knowledge is not wrong. As long as one have interest to know the truth nothing is wrong in reading. If administrator gives me a right I can give the meaning of 'Yogi' from Hindu holy scripture.

If you talk about legality it applies to everything. Even a politician who has furnished 'fake degrees' should face the same wrath of these butcheries.

We should come to common terms that stealing someone's livelihood is biggest crime. Denying food is biggest human rights violation. Stopping someone from food of his own choice is against constitution.

I will request you to read The Myth Of The Holy Cow written by D.N.Jha to enlighten yourself from the misconception of beef eating.
