Petrol, diesel prices cut

New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS): State-run Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has cut prices of petrol by Rs.1.27 a litre and of diesel by Rs. 1.17, effective Saturday, the oil marketer announced.

Calling it an Independence Day gift to consumers, IOC said: "Since last price change (August 1), there has been a decrease in international prices of both petrol and diesel."

IOC announced that the price of petrol per litre from Saturday will be Rs.63.20 in Delhi, Rs.68.10 in Kolkata, Rs.68.24 in Mumbai and Rs.63.49 in Chennai.

Diesel will cost Rs.44.95 a litre in Delhi, Rs.48.66 in Kolkata, Rs.50.04 in Mumbai and Rs.46.08 in Chennai.

International crude oil prices have fallen below the psychological $50-a-barrel mark. The Indian basket of crude oils closed on the previous trading day on Thursday at $49.52 a barrel of nearly 160 litres.

Crude oil is only one of the inputs for Petrol price. Other costs like salaries have gone up. The refining margin doesn't change. Similarly when the crude oil prices double petrol prices don't double. Some people need a vehicle that runs on crude oil and burnol!!

Dear shiva shetty, kateel / dxb,

WE NEITHER DESIRE COW GOVERNMENT OR PIG GOVERNMENT.

WE NEED RIGHTEOUS AND LAWFUL HUMAN GOVERNMENT FOR HUMANS NOT TO GOVERN FOR COWS AND PIGS.

Wait for some time the brahsta jaanuvaar party will bring cows and pigs in the parliament for worship.

Petrol price in non oil producing countries are much lesser than India. It is in :
    pakistan - Rs.48,
    Afghanistan - Rs.49
    Syria - Rs.30
    Malaysia - Rs.34
    Indonesia - Rs.46
    Chad - Rs.51
    Sudan - Rs.51

When these countries can sell for such low prices why it is so high in India. And they are saying independence gift just for lowering the price nearly by Rs.1. Gift??? My foot.

    STOP THE LOOT PLEASE !!!

Crude is trading at 42$ per barrel now compared to 120$ per barrel a year before. But, what % of decline is passed on to Indians ???

Who is faking & looting all of us daily ? This govt. sponsored loot must end.

Diesel, Petrol should have been cut by at least another 15 rupees if not more. Taxes also reduce proportionately based on crude price decline. But, in India only loot is going on...

Who is benefiting ? Sponsors of .....

Crude only come down. Exchange rate gone up. Refining margin gone up. Mainly oil marketing companies margin gone up. Central tax gone up. State govt sales tax gone up. In Goa no sales tax on petrol. Price 43/for petrol. Govt policy is to control the use of fossil fuels. So they have to increase the tax to control the use. Nobody is looting. Tax goes to exchequer.

    Happy Independence to all,
Petrole price decreased by Rs. 1.27 per Ltr. "This is not central govt achivement as Fuel price is decreased globally" congress spokes person already make statement as above, well there is some truth too, but unfortunately y these congis dont understand iwhen same will increase????
Congress dont have an agenda to fight with central govt, they just barking like pakistanis.
whole parliment session was wasted due to immature congress. 44 uneducatedMPs dnt want parliment session where as more than 400 MPs want to have session and want to have clear discussion. BJP clearly told every thing will be discussed in parliment, but congress not ready for discussion, i hope congress are still not in position to accept 2014 result.
I saw some of video of parliment session, and felt pitty on congress, they are just demanding resignation where as BJP clearly invited for wealthy discussion,

Sushma Swaraj clearly told in parliment that she didnt influenced or requested or ordered to portugal govt for lalit modi visa. If congress thinks she commit mistake then they should prove same, file a FIR against her, show the proof to public, release to media. unfortunately they dont have anything to prove as well as to discuss. but media proved one thing to public that Mr. so called Yuvaraj is unable to speak 4 lines without help from others, i request all of you to think once again that how these type of uneducated people thinks that they are capable to rule 125 crore people???
Congress claiming about PMs forign trip, for all of readers knowledge
PM visited 25 countries so far in 63 days and Indians got many benifits, i am working in dubai and here every one speaking about India today because of upcoming PMs visit, UAE govt announced they will do light show of Indian flag for 2 days in Burj Khalifa in respect of PMs visit,
Even till today it never happend.
Please congis wat was achive ment by Rahuls 53 day visit to Massage country Thailand????
