New Delhi, Mar 9: The world's largest airline, American Airlines, has announced the shifting of its Asia-Pacific call centre operations to India from Australia.

In a statement the airline has said that it has appointed Bird Information Systems Private Ltd to provide call centre services for travel related queries of its customers in India and the Asia Pacific region. The airline currently operates a daily flight on the Delhi-Chicago sector.

The long-term contract is to see BIS provide the airline call centre services all through the day right through the year to handle all customer requests relating to travel bookings, reservation, fares, ticketing (including e-tickets) and other general information related to American Airlines.
