Dublin, Ireland, Dec 14: The new group under formation "Irish Konkans" will be formally inaugurated on December 16.
The venue will be Riverside Community Hall, Ashtown, Dublin-15 and time is 11-00 am local time.
The occasion will also see the celebration of Christmas and selection of office-bearers to run the organization.
The Konkani community has had some celebrations in the past, but there were a few families which had attended. It is likely that the strength has increased considerably, about 50 or families by a modest estimate, an organization of this kind to bring all of them together in a spirit of a single community would be a welcome step.
The number is no comparison to the strength in other countries. Yet, it is a great thing to happen and come together.
