Mangalore, Oct 24: A middle-aged person from Bikarnakatta was killed after being knocked down by a private bus at Mallikatta here on Monday October 23 night.
Philip Saldanha (51), a resident of Bikarnakatta was walking by the roadside along with Peter Fernandes on Monday night. As they reached near Jugul Wines, a private bus that came from behind knocked Philip down.
He immediately fell on the road and sustained serious injuries. Though he was admitted to a private hospital immediately, he succumbed to the injuries late in the night.
Kadri police have booked a case against bus driver Krishnamurthy, a resident of Moodshedde in this regard.
