Karkala, Oct 13: The much-awaited Suvarna Samskruti Dibbana reached Hebri town on Thursday. Member of Shri Kshetra Dharmastala Village Development Project, members of SHGs, students and school children welcomed the Dibbanna.
Over 3,000 people joined in the grand procession which passed through major roads of the region.
In Dakshina Kannada, the district administration, Kannada Sahitya Parishat and the Department of Kannada and Culture had planned to accord a grand welcome to the Dibbanna in Moodbidri. However with the bundh and the security reasons it has revised its plans.
In Mangalore the Dibbanna will be received at Bunts Hostel premises and all activities related to the Dibbanna will be held in Town Hall alone. This was informed by deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao on Thursday.
