Bangalore, Oct12: Accusing the JDS-BJP government of failing to check communal violence in Mangalore, the Congress on Thursday demanded a judicial probe into incidents that claimed two lives and left dozens injured.

"Bajrang Dal, Srirama Sena, BJP and even some ministers are responsible for the outbreak of clashes," leader of opposition in the assembly N Dharam Singh told a press conference after a meeting of the Congress legislature party meeting here. State Congress unit president M Mallikarjun Kharge was also present.

Singh alleged the government headed by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was responsible for the violence.

He said the Congress will not file any affidavit before the U L Bhat commission of inquiry appointed to probe alleged irregularities and corruption in mining activities in Bellary and other areas as the party wanted a CBI investigation.
