Udupi, Oct 12: A mock protest was staged against the town council for inefficient management of waste water at Beedinagudde near here on Thursday October 12 morning.

The agitators were led by District Nagarika Samiti who held a mock funeral procession in the streets.  They complained that waste water from animal slaughterhouse at Beedinagudde.  "The town council has been supplying the same polluted water for drinking purpose.  Despite so many complaints and appeals, nothing has been done to meet the problem.  So this kind of protest was essential for us," said they.

Moreover, a Hindu cremation ground is in the nearby place. Owing to pollution and nauseating smell people find it difficult to cremate their loved ones.  Town council needs to give attention towards these problems, agitators requested.
