Parishioners of The Holy Angels Church Angelore in Mangalore Diocese celebrated the patron’s feast and the parish feast called on October 2 with high galore and pomp. This feast day was a special day of unity and joy for all the people in and around Angelore parish. This year though, the feast was of added significance, as the day is witnessed the grand launching of many basic needed novel events pertaining to the parish such as erecting of a new Grotto, the renovation and the modification of the Church interiors and symbolizing of new and modern tabernacle. The need for the renovation was being felt and expressed by the parishioners unanimously and the work was successfully carried out to a certain extent. Even to this day the projects like benches with pews are still pending and we hope with the active cooperation from the parishioners of Angelore the parishioners will carry them out at the earliest.

The Solemn ceremony of the day started at 9:30 am under the presidentship of Rt Rev Dr Aloysius P D’Souza, the Bishop of Mangalore along with the parish priest Fr Stany B Lobo and other priests. The Bishop blessed and solemnized the Grotto, the Gospel stand, the Tabernacle, and the statues of Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene and John around the Cross depicting the Calvary Scene paintings. Later he distributed Candles and honoured the Murdoms.

The High mass was celebrated thereafter in which the Vicar Forane of Mangalore City Varado V Rev Fr Lawrence C D’Souza of Cordel Parish who was the main celebrant. The Mass was a symbol of solemnity, dignity and dedication. The unity of the parish was evident around the Altar.

After the Mass people wished each other festal joy and happiness. Fair was present and people enjoyed in the fair. In the evening like that of previous years the Parish organizes the ‘Baal Angelore’ competition for the children of age 3 years to 5 and half years to exhibit their talents. This day marks the unity and the solidarity of the parishioners.
