Mangalore, Oct 2: A medical student was killed after the car he was travelling turned turtle owing to a tyre burst at Chembugudde near Thokkottu here on Sunday October 1 night.

The deceased has been identified as Rohit Adyantaya (22), a resident of Moodigere in Chikmagalur district. He was a BDS student of one of the medical colleges at Derlakatte near here. 

He was on his way to the city driving his car when the tragedy took place at Chembugudde.  As the car reached Chembugudde, it turned turtle owing to tyre burst.  The car also hit nearby electric pole before fire caught the car.  Rohit was alone in the car and he sustained serious injuries in the tragedy.

The locals immediately went to his help. They pulled him out from his car and admitted to a private hospital at Derlakatte.  However, Rohit succumbed to injuries in the small hours of Monday October 2.

The Ullal police have registered a case in this regard.
