Report and Pics - Lionel Pinto Kinnigoli (GA)

Mangalore, Sep 28: A theft case has been reported from Immaculate Conception Church at Kinnigoli near here on Wednesday September 27 night.

The reports said that thieves have made a vain attempt to break open the alms box from inside after crossing the gate in front of the main door of the church.  Having failed in their attempt, they have broken the alms box from outside and have decamped with cash.  The worth of the stolen cash is not yet known.

The thieves have broken open the alms boxes which were beneath the idols of Blessed Virgin Mary and St Joseph which were on the either side of the entrance of the church.  Some blood stains were also found near the alms boxes which suggest that the thieves might have sustained injuries while breaking open the alms boxes.

A complaint has been filed in the Mulki police station in this regard.
