Mangalore, Sep 18: An illegally-run slaughter house was raided at Angaragundi area near Jokatte near here on Sunday September 17 morning.  The police seized huge quantity of beef from the slaughter house.

The slaughter house was illegally run by one Bashir of Angaragundi for quite sometime.  Though, the locals knew about it, they had not alerted the police in this regard.  However, of late, the police received a tip-off in this regard.

Based on this tip-off, the police raided the slaughter house in the early hours of Sunday and seized beef along with knives, sabre etc used for slaughtering.  The police also arrested two persons in this regard.  They have been identified as locals Badruddin and Rafique.  However, the main accused, Bashir is still at large.

The Panambur police have registered a case in this regard.
