Mangalore, Sep 1: A 20-year-old young man has been arrested for raping his cousin at Kemmade of Moorukaveri near Kinnigoli here.

Naveen (20), son of the late Sheenappa who was a waiter in Akshaya Bar at Kinnigoli here has been remanded to judicial custody for raping his 15-year-old cousin.  She is a class 10 student in Little Flower high school here.  Reports said that the victim was on her way back home after the school when Naveen met her on the way.  He took her to a lonely place under the pretext of talking to her and there he raped her.

The girl who was in a state of inexplicable shock told her mother about the incident as soon as she came home.  The incident had taken place on Wednesday August 30.  Her parents immediately filed a case with the Mulki police in this regard.  Naveen was arrested on Thursday and was produced before the Moodbidri court which later remanded him to judicial custody.
