Moodbidri, Sep 1: Ganeshotsava celebration took place here in a very organized manner with authentic rituals.

A large number of devotees and people from all castes and faiths assembled on the occasion of the ritualistic prayers to the lord ganesh on the eve of taking the idol for immersion in the precints of Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple in Alangar.

Thousands of people joined the procession accompanied by colourful tableaux depicting different religious themes and cultural aspects of Tulunad. They were sponsored by Various groups and organizations of Moodbidri, irrespective of religions.

The tableau which carried Lord Ganesh was driven by P M Narayan of Nishmitha group himself, who is a popular yet humble citizen of Moodbidri. The tableau carrying Lord Krishna was sponsored by the Navami group and Mahabharat's Bhishma by Krishna Prasad group of Moodbidri.

The young generation of Moodbidri was totally involved in maintaining peace and solemnity of the procession of Lord Ganesh on the way to the immersion ceremony.

The security and law and order was efficiently overseen by the Moodbidri police.
