Udupi, Sep 1: In a major theft case registered here, cash and ornaments worth around 4 lac has been reported stolen from a hotel.

Dr Harish Agarwal and family of Mumbai were on a trip to Udupi and adjoining districts. As a part of their tour they reached Udupi from Mumbai on the Aug 30 and took a room in Hotel Kediyoor, Udupi.

According to the police the theft took place between Aug 30, 10 pm and Aug 31, 6 am. The family was put up in room No 406. According to the complaint, Rs. 95,000 cash and gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs. 3, 50,000 were stolen from the hotel room.

A case has been registered in Udupi town police station and investigation is on.
