Beltangady, Aug 30: Even two days after Rayi gram panchayat member Vidyadhar Jain murder, police have not been able to get hold of the accused.  Police sources said that all the accused including the mastermind Hrishikesh Jain have been absconding eversince the murder.

Meanwhile the police have seized a pick-up vehicle which was used by the assailants before and after the murder.  The vehicle driver Rajesh of Laila too has been arrested by the police.  The police reports said that Hrishikesh Jain, Sathish, Prashanth, Anil, Pradeep, Sunil, Hitesh, Hrishikesh and Sunil were directly involved with the murder.

In the meantime it is also confirmed that Vidyadhar Jain's murder is a result of ongoing tussle between two gangs of the area.  Vidyadhar had almost 10 cases filed against him in Bantwal, Bajpe, Beltangady and Venur police stations.  Even the prime accused Hrishikesh Jain has been facing four case in Beltangady and two cases in Venur police stations.  So Vidyadhar's murder is the direct result of gangwar in the region.

Vidyadhar Jain's body was handed over to his family after autopsy.  His final rites were held on Tuesday evening at Arala in Bantwal. 

On the other hand, Iqbal, a friend of Vidyadhar who was with him on Monday and who is also the eyewitness of the murder has been given adequate police security.
