Turkeish police seizes 346 kg of heroin


Ankara, Oct 11 (IANS): Turkish police have seized 346 kg of heroin during an anti-drug operation across the country.

The police detained 11 suspects in Hakkari and Istanbul on Thursday, including three foreigner, who were trying to smuggle drugs from Iran to Europe via Turkey, reports Xinhua.

The operation was carried out after Turkish intelligence came to know about a network that brought drugs from the Iranian border to Istanbul.

Turkey has long been a key transit point for drug smuggling from Asia and Middle East to Europe.
