Udupi, Jan 9: Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari and RUDSET Institute president D Veerendra Heggade said that the Central government has released Rs 3.65 crore for the construction of RUDSET Institute office buildings at Bhuvaneshwar, Ananthpur, Jaipur and Gaziyabad.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Association of Successful Alumni of RUDSETI Trained Entrepreneurs (ASARE) at Brahmavar, RUDSET Institute premises, on Sunday.

He stated that RUDSET Institute will introduce new courses in mason, plumbing, tiles fixing and electrician courses.

Heggade said that RUDSET Institutes started in Karnataka, have been extended to 12 other states. So far, 1,60,000 youth have been given training at RUDSET Institute and out of this, 55 per cent have started self-employment with their own capital, he said.
  
Syndicate Bank chairman and managing director N Kantha Kumar inaugurating the new staff quarters of RUDSET Institute, Brahmavar, termed RUDSET Institute as a role model to the whole country. Both State and Central governments are vying with each other to start RUDSET Institutes in different parts of the state, he said. He appreciated the holistic approach taken by RUDSET Institute for rural development.

Visvesvaraya Industrial Training Centre, Bangalore managing director B R Umakanth, releasing the book Impressions on RUDSET Institute, said that as per the new industrial policy of the State government, more institutes similar to RUDSETI will be set up with public-private partnership in the State. For this, MLA's Area Development Funds will also be used, he said.

Every year, 26,000 youth undergo training programme under Prime Ministers' Rozgar Yojna in the State, out of which, 40 per cent are provided with training at RUDSET Institutes. Commerce and Industry department has drawn many schemes, wherein provisions are made for the self-employed youth to sell their products at exhibitions in the State, as well as outside. Hence, marketing the products will not be a problem, he said.

Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer and acting deputy commissioner R Shantaraj inaugurated the RUDSET exhibition.
