When 'Stolen' Actress Experienced Real Life Theft

Los Angeles, Oct 31 (IANS): Actress Malin Akerman's handbag had actually got stolen on the sets of her latest film, titled "Stolen". She calls it a "strange" episode.

The incident occurred when Akerman and the rest of the cast and crew were shooting filming for a scene on sets of "Stolen" in New Orleans. As the actress returned to her vanity van, she realised her handbag and a few other valuables were missing.

She informed the security team about the theft instantly, but unfortunately the objects could not be recovered, said a source.

"It was a strange incident. I never expected such a thing could happen to me. I was distraught the whole day because the bag had my favourite pair of earrings and my music player," Akerman said in a statement.

The actress, who has worked in movies like "Rock of Ages", "Watchmen", "Couples Retreat" and "27 Dresses", stars alongside Nicolas Cage and Josh Lucas in "Stolen", which is a thriller.

"Stolen" tells the story of a former master-thief who gets involved in a frantic search for his kidnapped daughter.

"Stolen" will hit Indian theatres Nov 9.
