TV Actors in Trouble for making Fun of Rihanna-Brown

Los Angeles, Oct 21 (IANS): Television actors Ashley Taylor Dawson and Ryan Thomas are being criticised for making fun of singer Rihanna's reconciliation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

Dawson, known for his work in TV soap "Hollyoaks", wrote on Twitter: "I hear Rihanna is back with Chris Brown... well if you can't beat 'em, join them."

Thomas of "Coronation Street" fame sent the same message to his 167,000 followers.

Channel 4's "Hollyoaks" and ITV1's "Coronation Street" both feature anti-domestic violence messages -- and campaigners urged them to take action against Dawson and Thomas.

Thesun.co.uk reports that their comments have not gone down well with the showmakers and fans and both the actors will be questioned.

A Hollyoaks spokeswoman said: "This is not the sort of comment we would ever sanction. We will be talking to the actor."

An ITV spokeswoman said: "We will look into the situation on Monday."

Rihanna was physically assaulted by Brown during their relationship in 2009 and was hospitalised.

They parted ways after that -- but the two have now patched up.
