Lucknow, Oct 15: Influencer and make-up artist Shraddha Dubey has denied allegations linking her to the death of her 27-year-old boyfriend, Shiva Sharma, in Lucknow, claiming that he died by suicide and that she has been wrongly implicated in the case.

In a video lasting one minute and 15 seconds, Dubey rejected the allegations against her and urged the media not to link her name to the case or associate her with politicians and senior officials.

“I request the media not to link my name to this. I request everyone to stop linking my name to any high-ranking officials or politicians. I am not connected with anyone and I don't know anyone,” she said in the video.

Denying reports that she was absconding, Dubey said she was ready to cooperate with the police and disclose the complete truth to investigators. She also maintained that she had done nothing wrong.

“I am not absconding, and I am ready to cooperate with the authorities. I will tell them the complete truth. I request everyone to think at least a hundred times before connecting a girl's name with anyone. I am completely honest and I have not done anything wrong. It was not a murder, but a suicide,” she said.

Sharma, a 27-year-old cafe owner and businessman, died after falling from Awadh Green Apartment in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area on October 9. He was reportedly in a suspected live-in relationship with Dubey for around four months.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. A purported audio clip in which Sharma and Dubey are allegedly heard arguing has also come to light.

Investigators had earlier stated that Dubey was absconding. On Wednesday, police reportedly found her Mahindra Scorpio-N in Rupaidiha, a town near the Nepal border, raising the possibility that she may have crossed into Nepal.

Dubey’s latest video has added a new development to the case. Police have not yet issued a statement in response to her claims.

The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against Dubey have not been established.
