Sullia police seize pickup carrying sand without permit

Sullia, Oct 7: Sullia police have seized a pickup vehicle allegedly transporting sand without a valid permit and registered a case in connection with the incident.

Sub-inspector Uday Ravi M Y of Sullia police station was on patrol duty along with his staff when they intercepted a pickup vehicle near Arambur on the Mani-Mysuru Road during the night.

During inspection, police found sand being transported in the vehicle. On questioning, the driver identified himself as Ajaruddin P H (28), a resident of Peraje village.

According to police, the driver admitted that he did not have a permit to transport the sand. The police subsequently seized the vehicle and registered a case at Sullia police station.
