Hyderabad, Sep 24: Telugu actor Nani's latest film The Paradise has opened in theatres with strong advance bookings, recording Rs 50.14 crore in advance gross bookings, according to Sacnilk.

However, the film's actual Day 1 theatrical collection is significantly different. Sacnilk's live tracker showed The Paradise at Rs 4.29 crore net and Rs 5.06 crore gross in India as of 7:03 am on September 24. The figures were still being updated, with the final opening-day collection yet to be reported.

The film's advance sales had generated considerable interest ahead of its theatrical release on September 24, with the Telugu version accounting for most of the early bookings.

The early Day 1 figures followed a similar pattern. Of the Rs 4.29 crore net collection reported so far, Rs 4.27 crore came from Telugu shows, while Hindi and Tamil contributed Rs 0.01 crore each. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 60.6 per cent across the shows tracked at the time of the update.

At the time of the latest update, The Paradise was running across 748 tracked shows in India. The final Day 1 collection is expected after all shows are accounted for.

The Rs 50.14 crore figure refers to advance gross bookings and should not be treated as the film's Day 1 theatrical collection. The final opening-day figures will provide a clearer picture of its performance.

The Paradise marks Nani's second collaboration with director Srikanth Odela after Dasara. Set in 1980s Secunderabad, the film revolves around a marginalised community confronting discrimination and seeking citizenship under the leadership of an unexpected figure.

Nani leads the cast, with Raghav Juyal, Sonali Kulkarni and Kayadu Lohar also featuring. The film has been released in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil and carries an A certificate.
