Mumbai, Sep 23: Bollywood actor Govinda, who is set to make his comeback with the upcoming film ‘Roopa’, visited the famous Lalbaugcha Raja pandal in Mumbai late Tuesday night to seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings.

Govinda, who traditionally visits Lalbaugcha Raja with his family, was accompanied this time by his ‘Roopa’ co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Photos and videos of the actor at the pandal have surfaced on social media and are being widely shared.

Govinda and Komal Rani participated in the prayers, with the priest applying tilak on their foreheads. Govinda was dressed in a traditional white outfit, while Komal Rani wore a vibrant yellow ethnic ensemble.

The duo joined devotees for Ganapati darshan, offered prayers and participated in the final aarti of the day. Govinda was also seen greeting fans and other devotees who gathered at the venue and recorded videos of his visit.

Komal Rani’s appearance alongside Govinda also drew attention amid reports and rumours surrounding their association. The actor’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, had earlier made allegations concerning Govinda’s relationship with the actress, claiming that she was “his daughter’s age”. The allegations have not been independently established.

Govinda had introduced Komal Rani to the media in July as his new co-star in ‘Roopa’, following which speculation surrounding the two gained attention.

The actor had also publicly supported his wife during her stint on the reality streaming show ‘Lock Upp’ and went to receive her following her elimination from the show.

Speaking about his return to films, Govinda had earlier said that being written off by people only made him stronger. Describing his comeback as part of destiny, he said he had always believed in starting again and hoped ‘Roopa’ would connect with young audiences.

“Maybe it was destiny that I was written off so many times. People kept saying, ‘Now he won't appear in films anymore.’ But I always started again. I pray to God that this film achieves what I've envisioned, something people may not even imagine, and works its magic,” Govinda said.

He added that the film was particularly aimed at younger audiences and expressed hope that it would inspire them to dream and believe that their dreams could come true.

Govinda was last seen in the 2019 film ‘Rangeela Raja’, in which he played a double role. He also appeared in the 2022 documentary ‘Naam Tha Kanhaiyalal’.
