Mangaluru, Sep 18: Traffic was disrupted for several hours on the Haleyangady-Kinnigoli road on Thursday after a truck rammed into an electricity transformer and came to a halt on the road.
The truck reportedly lost control while travelling towards Kinnigoli from Haleyangady and crashed into the transformer installed on the roadside. The impact damaged the transformer, while the truck remained stranded on the road, causing traffic congestion on both sides.
Following the incident, concerns over a possible electrical hazard were raised at the spot. As a precautionary measure, the power supply was disconnected and repair work was undertaken.
The truck was later removed from the road, following which traffic movement returned to normal.
