Mangaluru, Sep 12: Carmel Central School, Kotekar celebrated Grandparents’ Day on September 11 with great joy, warmth and enthusiasm. The celebration was a beautiful tribute to the love, wisdom and invaluable presence of grandparents in the lives of children.
The programme was graced by the presence of chief guest Dr Supriya Amanna, associate professor, department of public health dentistry, Yenepoya Dental College, principal Sr Pramila AC, administrator Sr Julie Ann AC, and KG coordinator teacher Disha.

The celebration began with a prayer dance presented by the LKG students, followed by a graceful welcome dance by the UKG students. Teacher Jyothi extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The nursery students charmed the audience with a lively action song and a delightful presentation. The UKG students then presented a meaningful skit on the need to spend time quality time with grandparents, listening to them, while the LKG and UKG students enthralled the audience with colorful and energetic dance performances.
Adding to the joy of the celebration were a variety of fun-filled games specially organised for the grandparents. Their enthusiastic participation filled the auditorium with laughter, excitement and cherished moments.
The chief guest, Dr Supriya Amanna, addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on dental health, oral hygiene and common dental problems, highlighting the importance of developing healthy dental habits from an early age.
The winners of the games were felicitated with prizes, followed by the distribution of certificates. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks presented by the UKG students.
Grandparents’ Day was a memorable celebration of the beautiful bond between grandparents and grandchildren. The day was filled with love, laughter, gratitude and togetherness, leaving everyone with treasured memories to cherish.
