SMVITM organizes massive World Suicide Prevention Day awareness rally

Udupi, Sep 11: The Aasare Counselling Cell of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, in active association with its NSS and NCC units, organized a massive awareness rally on Thursday, September 10, to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.

The event aimed to promote mental health awareness and eliminate the social stigma surrounding suicide prevention, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.

The rally officially commenced from the Shankarpura Bus Stand, where it was flagged off by the dean of SMVITM, Dr Sudarshan Rao, alongside the Shirva police sub-inspector and his department staff.

Led smoothly by event coordinators Dr Deepika B V, Sharan Hegde, and Karthik, the participants marched in an impactful procession back to the SMVITM campus, successfully spreading vital life-saving messages and community support to the local public along the route.
