Puttur, Sep 10: The Uppinangady police have submitted a charge sheet to the court against a man from Beltangady for allegedly harassing a young woman and trespassing into her property armed with a weapon.
The accused has been identified as Sheshagiri, a resident of Tekkaru in Beltangady.
According to the police, Sheshagiri had managed to obtain the mobile phone number of the complainant's daughter and was in constant contact with her. He allegedly subjected the young woman to harassment, repeatedly forcing her to marry him.

The situation escalated late at night on November 29, 2025, when the accused trespassed into the cowshed near the complainant's residence, wielding a sword. Based on a complaint filed by the young woman's mother, a case was registered at the Uppinangady police station (Crime No 112/2025) on November 30, 2025. The case was booked under sections 78(1)(i), 329(3), and 329(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
Following a comprehensive investigation into the incident, the police filed the final report before the court on February 25, 2026. The matter is currently under trial.
