New Delhi, Sep 8: A 54-year-old retired music teacher from Manipur was allegedly beaten to death in Delhi's Kilokari village after he objected to noise and commotion outside his home.

The victim, identified as Vikram Singh, was involved in an altercation with people associated with a local dhaba and delivery personnel following his objection to the disturbance.

Singh's family rushed him to Holy Family Hospital after the assault, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Sunlight Colony police have registered a murder case in connection with the incident and taken seven accused persons into custody, including minors.

Following the incident, members of the northeast community gathered outside the police station and demanded strict action against those responsible.

Former Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh condemned the attack and urged the Delhi Police to ensure justice for the victim and his family.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the altercation and the role of those detained in the fatal assault.
