Mumbai, Sep 7: Veteran actress and dancer Kalpana Iyer has shared an inspiring note on ageing, saying she refuses to believe that turning 70 means she is old and asserted that she still has the energy and desire to work.
The actress shared pictures from when she was 20 and at 70 on social media, accompanying them with a candid reflection on her life and career.
Iyer said she does not consider herself young, but also refuses to let her age determine what she can or cannot do. She highlighted that she can walk without assistance, climb stairs, dance and continue doing many things she did when she was younger.

She said her heart still feels young and her body continues to support her. Expressing her love for people and life, Iyer also appealed to those willing to offer her work to get in touch with her.
The actress had earlier spoken about the need for basic professional courtesy in the entertainment industry. She urged people who approach her for work to inform her if a project does not materialise rather than disappearing.
Iyer said she understands that the industry has changed and that not every opportunity will come her way. However, she stressed that communication and decency should remain, adding that she was willing to understand, adapt and even suggest alternatives if a project did not work out in its original form.
Clarifying that her message was not aimed at any particular individual, she described it as a simple appeal from a 70-year-old asking people to be fair and decent.
Known for popular dance numbers such as ‘Rambha Ho’, ‘Hari Om Hari’ and ‘Jab Chhaye Tera Jadoo’, Iyer has also acted in films including _Satte Pe Satta_, _Disco Dancer_, _Anjaam_, _Raja Hindustani_ and _Hum Saath Saath Hain_. She moved to Dubai in 1999 after stepping away from the Hindi film industry.
