Mangaluru, Sep 7: Carmel Central School, Kotekar resonated with joy, gratitude, and vibrant festivities as the school community gathered to celebrate Teachers’ Day on September 5. The entire event was meticulously organized and flawlessly executed by the student cabinet along with grade 10 students whose tireless efforts, enthusiasm, and active involvement made the celebration a grand and memorable success.
The day’s proceedings commenced with a respectful entry of the beloved educators, welcomed warmly by enthusiastic applause. Setting a solemn and auspicious tone for the occasion, the esteemed dignitaries — principal Sr Pramila D’Souza AC, administrator Sr Juli Ann AC, vice principal Sr Anita D’Souza AC, and coordinators Sr Premal AC, teachers Roopa and Disha joined together for the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, which was performed in a unique and novel manner, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through the light of wisdom.

The stage came alive immediately after with an exquisite welcome dance, gracefully setting a celebratory ambience, which was followed by an eloquent welcome speech extending heartfelt greetings to the management, principal, teachers, and staff members.
To keep the atmosphere lively and interactive, the student organizers introduced entertaining spot games throughout the programme, bringing immense joy and competitive cheer to the teachers. The cultural extravaganza featured a magnificent blend of rhythm, humor, and dramatic talent. Energetic dance performances by both the girls and the boys captivated the audience with vibrant choreography.
Adding a creative touch to the event, inventive advertisement acts staged by the boys and girls brought waves of laughter, while a thought-provoking skit highlighted the profound impact teachers have on shaping young minds. A soulful wishing song was also rendered by the students, expressing deep reverence, gratitude, and prayerful wishes for their mentors.
Following the final spot game and the distribution of prizes to the winning teachers, the gathering was graced by the message of the principal, Sr Pramila D’Souza AC. In her address, she warmly appreciated the dedication and selfless service of the teachers, while also commending the student cabinet and grade 10 students for putting together such a wonderful and well-coordinated programme.
The celebration concluded on a high note with a sincere vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the school management, the hard work of all the student organizers, and the enthusiastic participation of the entire Carmel family in making Teachers’ Day 2026 truly unforgettable.
