Mangaluru, Sep 3: St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, inaugurated a tailoring training course on September 1 with the aim of promoting skill development, self-reliance and empowerment.

The programme was inaugurated by Marjorie Texeira, an alumna of St Agnes College. Ronald Gomes, president of CASK, presided over the programme and highlighted the importance of tailoring as a skill that promotes creativity, confidence and self-reliance. He encouraged the learners to make the best use of the training opportunity.

Sr Dr M Venissa AC principal emphasised that the course aims to impart practical tailoring skills and equip learners with opportunities for employment and self-employment, thereby fostering financial independence.

A total of 18 learners participating in the training programme. Dr Shailaja and Mokshitha, the course coordinators, along with other faculty members, were present on the occasion. The programme marked a significant step towards promoting vocational skills and empowering individuals through practical training.
