Beltangady, Sep 3: St Raphael Church, Badyar, organised a vibrant Pavsa Gammath cultural fest and paddy field games programme on August 30, bringing parishioners together in a spirit of joy, fellowship and community bonding.

Various traditional games and rural activities were conducted as part of the celebrations, with enthusiastic participation from parishioners, particularly the youth. The programme provided an opportunity to reconnect with traditional games and rural customs while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.

Konkani Manyath Diwas was also observed on the occasion, highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting the Konkani language, culture and heritage.

The competitions were conducted on a ward-wise basis, with Holy Rosary Ward emerging as the champions. Immaculate Heart of Mary Ward secured the runners-up position.

The enthusiastic participation of parishioners made the event a memorable celebration of unity, friendship, culture, sportsmanship and rural traditions.
