Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh commends police for swiftly solving crimes in dist

Udupi, Sep 2: The Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh on Wednesday, September 2 congratulated Udupi district superintendent of police Hariram Shankar and the police department for swiftly solving several recent criminal cases in the district and arresting the accused, thereby effectively maintaining law and order and strengthening public confidence in the police.

A delegation of office-bearers of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh met the district superintendent of police and conveyed their appreciation.

Speaking on the occasion, Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh president Melvin Aranha Shirva said that some of the recent incidents had caused shock among the Christian community. However, the district police department responded swiftly through its personnel, cracked the cases and arrested the accused. He said the department’s exemplary work was highly commendable.

He added that the police department’s efforts had earned appreciation from the community and assured that the Christian community would extend its full cooperation in maintaining peace, and law and order in the district in the days ahead.

Responding to the delegation, district superintendent of police Hariram Shankar said that the department always carefully monitors every case and works towards finding appropriate solutions. He said the successful resolution of the cases was possible due to the hard work and cooperation of the officers and personnel of the department.

He said he would always respect the affection shown by the Christian community and sought its continued cooperation in maintaining law and order in the district.

The delegation comprised Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh spiritual director Fr Anil D'Souza, general secretary Juliet D'Souza, treasurer Garyfield Urban Lewis, president-designate Louis D'Souza, AICU state president Alvin Quadros, former Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh president Valerian Fernandes, Mary D'Souza, Dr Gerald Pinto, Shirva unit president Gerald Rodrigues, Udupi unit president Kiran Lewis, Kalyanpur unit president Joel Almeida, office-bearers Rosario D'Souza and others.
