Raknno Literary Awards 2026 to honour Dr Jerry Niddodi, Angelorcho Ange

Mangaluru, Sep 1: Raknno Konkani-English bilingual Weekly from Mangalore hereby announces its Annual Literary Awards- 2026. ‘The Best Author of the Year Award’ is bagged by Dr Jerry Niddodi and the ‘Best Parish Magazine Award’ is bagged by ‘Angelorcho Ange’ of Guardian Angel Church, Angelore, Nagori.

They will be awarded by the bishop of Mangalore Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, on Sunday, September 6 at 9.30 am, at Bejai Church hall, Mangalore. The president of Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy Joachim Stany Alvares will be the chief guest of the programme. The programme is organized by the Raknno Weekly in collaboration with Bejai Parish Community.

Raknno, is an esteemed weekly and publication from the diocese of Mangalore since in 1938. It is serving its ardent readers through enlightening them on diverse subjects since its founding. Since 3 years it is honoring the literary works through 2 renowned awards to promote Konkani literature.

Once it calls for the entries, they are scrutinized and chosen the best once for the two awards in the year.

After the award ceremony there will be a training program on Konkani language by Fr Valerian Fernandes, the former editor of Raknno.

The editor and publisher Fr Rupesh Ashok Madtha, along with the editorial board and scrutiny committee, has congratulated the awardees.
